Welcome to Year 4!
In year 4 our teacher is Mrs Beddow. Our teaching assistant is Mrs Blake.
This half term our topic is
Invaders and Settlers
Our new topic this half term is Invaders and Settlers. In this topic we will look at why people leave or left their homelands to settle in Britain. Our main history focus will be on the Anglo-Saxons and Vikings. We will be discovering who the Anglo Saxons were and where they came from, looking at what life was like for the Anglo Saxons and then looking at the changes in Britiain when the Vikings arrived.

This half term our PE days will be Monday and Thursday. Children can attend school wearing PE kit on these days. We will also be continuing with our swimming lessons on Tuesdays too.
Homework
We expect children to read at least 4 times each week. Children should bring their reading diary in each day.
We will also set a piece of homework each Friday, to be handed in by the following Friday. This should support the learning we have been doing in the classroom.
We also continue to learn spellings and times tables each week.
At the end of the half term, we will reward children who have read and completed their homework consistently.
