Welcome to Year 4!
In year 4 our teacher is Mrs Beddow. Our teaching assistants are Mrs Blake and Miss Lees.
This half term our topic is
World War 2
We are going to be learning about how and why World War 2 started, the countries involved and some of the key turning points in the war. We will also be researching rationing, evacuation and the Blitz, discovering what life would have been like during the war.
We will also be celebrating the 80th anniversary of VE day as a school, by learning the Lindy Hop and WW2 inspired songs. Year 4 are looking forward to running some fun WW2 inspired games for the other classes to take part in.

This half term out PE days will be Monday and Wednesday. Children can attend school wearing PE kit on these days. We will also be swimming on Thursdays.
Homework
We expect children to read at least 4 times each week. Children should bring their reading diary in each day.
We will also set a piece of homework each Friday, to be handed in by the following Friday. This should support the learning we have been doing in the classroom.
We also continue to learn spellings and times tables each week.
At the end of the half term, we will reward children who have read and completed their homework consistently.
