From Year 1, all children in State Schools must follow a National Curriculum in the core subjects of English, Mathematics and Science, and the foundation subjects of Design and Technology, Computing, Geography, History, Design and Technology, Art and Design, Music and Physical Education. In KS2 all children are also introduced to Languages. Religious Education is also a statutory requirement.
